Interesting article on The Daily Caller: Confessions of an Anchorman
Excerpt:
Much has been written about the reception, for example, that then-candidate Obama received when speaking at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago. It was a standing ovation, and a rush to the podium, so the fawning throng could have their picture snapped with the president-to-be. His opponent, John McCain received a smattering of polite applause.
It was no surprise then, more than a year later when President Obama, appearing at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, joked to the thousands of journalists in attendance, “Most of you covered me. All of you voted for me.” The line got a laugh … and then … in an insult to journalism, thousands in the crowd clapped and cheered, in affirmation of the truth. There was no shame for them. Quite the contrary, they reveled in it. The new mainstream media was on display for all to see in one giant, embarrassing ensemble. All of them feminized, sensitized and diversified. But it was also a perfect moment in time — thousands of nanny-state warriors, before their leader, ready to go forth to women ages 18-49 and spread the fear, and propose solutions of the state. What bad public policy may result, we have only begun to see.
I found this 3 pane photo online today at “i.imgur.com” and thought it made a very simple but clear point about how the media can manipulate public opinion simply by how they edit an image.
Check it out:
 Media Manipulation
Each pane tells a differant story doesn’t it? How many times has this method been used by our media outlets, government, and educators to distort the truth and frame the story to fit the world view they want us to believe?

Here it comes, the warning signs are out there, will we heed them? Can we do anything about it? Is bankrupting this country how the left is going to finally grab complete control of our economic and political systems?

I captured this satellite image from Google Maps of the Burj Khalifa tower (Burj Dubai) during contruction.
Burj Khalifa satellite image taken during construction
Is it just me or does the shadow cast by the new “Burj Khalifa” Tower in Dubai look like the pictures of the Tower of Babel I used to see in Sunday School as a kid. Interesting that Dubai’s economy is collapsing just as they finish this “Modern Day Tower of Babel”.
Just wondering.

As if we needed more proof that being a good actor doesn’t require a lot of intelligence:
Meryl Streep in awe of President Obama
Another good actor bites the dust!
I’m sure that Hugo Chavez’s threat to seize businesses will inspire innovation and competition to the benefit of the people of Venezuela.
Another example of why Socialism Fails!
I wonder what measures the pro government internationalist elites and the United Nations cabal will come up with to try and save us from this:
The Mini Ice Age Starts Here
UPDATE (11 jan 2010 @ 2:30am cst):
Freeze may kill 60,000 – That didn’t take long! (“Conservative” leader David Cameron in Britain slams PM Gordon Brown for not doing enough to help citizens deal with the “worst weather conditions the UK has experienced for years”.) Another pseudo conservative using a “crisis” for political gain. I wonder what he thinks the government should do about it?
My comment posted on the article above @ http://climaterealists.com/:
Exactly how was the Prime Minister supposed to “protect” the nation from a blizzard? The assumption that government has the capacity to protect us during extreme weather is absurd. Like those in America who blamed G.W. Bush for not protecting the citizens of New Orleans before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina. Now a “Conservative” leader (David Cameron) is attempting to score political points by implying that it is the Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s job to protect us during extreme weather events. What happened to personal responsibility. Personally, I don’t want the government to do anything except stay out of my business and get out of the way.
There now seems to be confirmation that Bill Ayers (an unapologetic communist terrorist) wrote Barack Obama’s first book “Dreams from my Father”. How much evidence do we need to understand the threat that this man is to America?!?
Please note the date that the New York Times article linked to above about Bill Ayers was published! (here is a hint)
Hat Tip to Accuracy In Media
I heard about this a few days ago and I have finally found a couple of good links to stories about it.
Democrat leaders in both houses of congress are working to pass a “Universal Voter Registration” bill which would make what ACORN has been doing during the last couple of elections look like nothing. Basically, every State’s voting laws throughout the country will be overturned by this bill. The federal government will mandate that every State must automatically add every person in every type of database specified in the bill to the voter registration rolls in their State. That’s right: Every person, regardless of citizenship or criminal background, that is listed in welfare and government services databases, drivers license databases, property tax databases, etc. will be added to the voter rolls automatically!
If you thought it was hard to ensure that every person that votes today had a legal right to do so, just wait. This bill will essentially legalize voter fraud by making it almost impossible to figure out which votes were legally cast in an election. How many illegal voters will this bill add to the rolls almost immediately? How many duplicate names will it create. The impact of this bill will make it extremely difficult to cull out the invalid votes during recounts and other staged election rigging maneuvers.
Now we know why they didn’t listen to us when they passed these “Health Care Reform” bills, TARP bills, and other bailouts. They don’t have to listen to us anymore because they intend to rig the system in their favor to ensure their victories in the future.

“As most here already know this proposed bill is just the latest in a long line of steps that our elected “representatives” have taken that prove their contempt for us. Unfortunately, it isn’t just one party or just politicians. This battle, and it is a battle, has been raging for decades in our schools and universities, pop-culture centers, workplaces, and government. We have almost let this to reach the threshold of inevitability in our march toward socialism and tyranny. Voting this group of politicians out of office won’t fix it either. This problem is systemic. We must find a way to get back to our founding principles as a society and the issues of governance will take care of themselves. The first thing we need to dispel is the idea that democracy is the secret to our success. Liberty, the rule of law, and free enterprise are the secrets. It’s as simple as that! – logicalliberty
Does this seem to be going over the line for anyone else? How many security measures are going to be enough? Terrorist organizations that are intelligent and determined enough will simply sit back and observe and probe the system to find another weak link in this long heavy chain of security that we are building only to imprison ourselves. The more intrusive and obvious we are in the measures we take the easier it is for terrorist to both eliminate risk to themselves in their attempts to attack us and the more successful they are in forcing us to reject the very freedoms that have made our societies great.
And what about the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” How heart breaking that we have forgotten the lessons of history.
Final Note: Don’t think for a minute that political, cultural, and corporate elites are going to have to submit themselves to this obvious breach of our rights. They will travel non-commercial on private jets and bypass being virtually strip searched. – My comment on WSJ article dated 9 Jan 2010
So says Senator John McCain.
I say: To little – To Late Senator McCain! You had your chance. Voters begged you to expose the truth during last year’s presidential campaign and you refused. Frankly, you have been in the Senate too long and grown accustomed to playing footsie’s with the the leftists in the Democrat party. Let someone else join the fight. I am sure there are plenty of truly conservative candidates in Arizona. Ya’ll need to find ‘em and elect ‘em!

“And because it may be too great a temptation to human frailty, apt to grasp at power, for the same persons, who have the power of making laws, to have also in their hands the power to execute them, whereby they may exempt themselves from obedience to the laws they make, and suit the law, both in its making, and execution, to their own private advantage” – John Locke (Second Treatise of Civil Government, Ch. XII sec. 143)
I wish our congress would abide by this fundamental principle! Make no law that doesn’t apply equally to everyone, including themselves, and those who enforce the law (the Executive Branch of our government) should have no authority to make laws (they call them “Regulations” but they carry the same authority as “law”)!
How long are you going to deny that we are on the slippery slope? Not only are we on it, it is getting a lot steeper!
